Last light at Luss (Print)
Inspired by a photograph taken by a friend during an evening wild swim at Luss on the shores of Loch Lomond, this original pastel captures the peaceful stillness that settles over the loch as the sun slips below the hills.
The glowing reflections of gold, coral and violet merge across the water, blurring the line between sky and loch. The lone swimmer becomes a quiet presence within the landscape, inviting the viewer to pause and share a fleeting moment of calm and connection with Scotland's natural beauty.
Rather than simply depicting a sunset, I wanted to capture the feeling of standing in cool water as the last light of the day fades—a moment that is both peaceful and profoundly restorative.
