Evening Reflections, Loch Fyne

The changing light over Loch Fyne has inspired me for many years, but it is the quiet moments just after sunset that I return to most often. As the mountains become dark silhouettes, the colours of the sky linger across the water, creating a fleeting moment of stillness before night falls.

This artwork was inspired by evenings spent overlooking Strachur Bay, where the loch seems to mirror the sky and every sunset feels unique. Rather than capturing every detail of the landscape, I wanted to preserve the atmosphere—the calm water, the deepening shadows and the final glow of light reflected across the loch.

Created by hand using carefully layered merino wool fibres, the soft texture enhances the gentle transitions of colour and gives the landscape a quiet, almost dreamlike quality.

The original artwork has now found its home with a private collector.
