Where Light Leads (Print)

US$125.00

Inspired by Loch Lomond, Scotland.

Some of my happiest memories have been made on the water. This painting was inspired by a day kayaking on Loch Lomond near the village of Luss, where the changing Scottish light transformed the landscape with every passing moment.

Although inspired by a personal experience with my husband, I wanted the figures to remain silhouetted and anonymous, allowing the scene to speak to anyone who has shared a quiet adventure with someone they love. The calm water, distant hills and dramatic shafts of light celebrate not only the beauty of Loch Lomond, but also those simple moments of connection that stay with us long after the journey has ended.

Created in professional soft pastel on archival Pastelmat, layers of richly pigmented pastel create soft transitions of light and colour while preserving the textures.
